Schneider Redevelopment Land Use Plan

Mixed-Use · Medium & High Rise Residential

PARTS Rockway Land Use with Site.jpg

The City of Kitchener has completed a planning study for the Rockway area, including the Schneiders Redevelopment site as part of its Planning Around Rapid Transit Stations (PARTS) project. The study includes a Land Use Plan that identifies a new land use framework for the Rockway area in light of the changing economy and the opportunity to intensify along the new ION rapid transit system. The PARTS plan provides for a mix of uses on the Schneiders Redevelopment site: employment and commercial near Borden, high rise residential and medium density mixed-use in the middle of the site and medium rise residential on the west side towards Stirling Avenue. New park space is shown on the plan which will provide linkages through the site and connect to future trails and green corridors to the north and south of the site. The images below are taken from the PARTS study and illustrate several of the key directions for the Schneider’s site.

Auburn Developments is in the process of preparing its development plans for the project.  The development plans will generally follow the lead established by the Rockway PARTS plan.  The Auburn plans will be posted on this website when they are completed.
